A Dog-Gone Good Time!

Today we had a "Puppy Party" for Porter.
He was so excited to bark and woof. Just a few of the neighborhood kids from his Primary class came. It was very low key but we had a great time. They were made into puppies right when they arrived-(ears, makeup) Then we made collars by lacing fruitloops onto yarn collars. Then they had to "sniff" out some goodies. We played Dog, Dog, Cat- (duck, duck, goose) and then played Red Rover! We had puppy paw cupcakes. Porter's favorite part was greeting his friends with a woof and arrf as they arrived! Puppy Porter

Look Who's 4!!!

My baby boy turned 4 on Friday, September 14th!!! 4 years ago today my TINY little bundle of shall we say "dynamite" was born! He weighed in at 6 lbs. and has only gained 20 lbs. since! He is still my little peanut! It's amazing to me that he is 4. He does act it and is getting way too smart for his own good. I'm sure it doesn't help to have older siblings and tween-agers in the mix :) He's a great boy! He's such a snuggle bug! We had to decorate a large bag for a preschool activity and here are some of the things Porter told me were his favorites.

-The rain
-Playing with my friends

-Digging in the dirt to find bones
-Eating Mac & Cheese
-Going to the Zoo
-Playing with race cars (matchbox cars)
-Hugging and kissing mom
-Watching mom's married video (he's obsessed with it)
-Puppies
-Babies
-Dressing up like a superhero
-Playing at the park
-Riding bikes
-Going to preschool
-Taking long baths (oooh a son after my own heart!)
-Going to "Chik a lay" (Chikfila)
-Finding snakes (in my backyard might I add...yuck!)
-Shark shows! (he loves the discovery channel)

Here's some photos from our "family" party. We tried to sneek it in between school and football practices. We have a Puppy Party planned for Monday with a few of the neighbor kids. (last minute idea mom thought she had to do!)

One funny story to go along with Porter's day. I completely ran out of time today because unlike my usual nature, I took him to get his picture taken today! Wow, I know, don't faint...
When we finally left after 2 hours, we had no time left to make the cake (batman) so I took him to the grocery store to pick something out. He was so funny! He walked up to all the cakes, with tons of choices, he points right to the a small round carrot cake and said "Oh, I want that one with those little carrot guys on it!" It was priceless. So funny! What kid do you know that would pick a carrot cake. He actually liked it too. I have to admit I was thrilled because I love carrot cake!

IN SANE, BORED or just PREPARED!

Okay...I'm taking a poll. I just finished canning another 2 boxes of peaches, 2 of pear- I'm making salsa and still have applesauce to go. Am I 1. In sane; 2. Bored or 3. Prepared. I'd like to think the 3rd but I have to actually admit I think it's a little of all three! ha ha ha. I'm seriously into the canning mode! I'm actually resting right now from it and decided to post!

ROCK ON!

Here's something fun you don't do everyday! The Wilde's invited us to ROCK ON with them at a concert. You'll never guess who played. STYX, DEF LEOPARD & FOREIGNER! It was an absolute RIOT. We laughed so hard but mostly at Kris because he knew every word to every song! We defintiely realized how old we were- Missy pulled out some ear plugs...It was a lot of fun but the crowd was pretty roudy!

GO GARRETT!

Oh my aching back!!!

Okay...for all you canners out there, this is for you! I love having these delightful peaches and pears through out the winter but this year my back was saying, "What in the world are you doing?"
I am always so happy when they are done and I know it's all worth it when I take one bite into this delicious Utah fruit. I have to say I'm so grateful to be here this year to enjoy all this great produce. Tomorrow I'm making a run up to Brigham City/Willard to get tomatoes for my Salsa (my little reminder of AZ) more peaches and pears. The peaches this year were soooo good! Elberta is the best variety I've found. They are so sweet I barely even sweetened the sugar water for them. This is what I have been doing the last couple of days! Hence no new blog posts! It was well worth it! YUM, YUM, YUM!
