Family Ski Trip

One of our gifts this year to the kids was a day of skiing.
I grew up skiing and just loved it--I haven't skied in over
16 years (different priorities) ha ha
So we thought it would be so fun to go as a family.
Here are some photos of our very fun day at Brighton!

On the chair lift--look at those smiles :)

Christmas Sunday

Photos we took before church on Sunday. Poor Kaden is too sick to even get
dressed so I will have to get his next week.
Merry Christmas

Meet Number 1

Porter and Garrett went to their first Wrestling Meet!

They both did really well and both came in 2nd place for their weight division! Not bad for first timers! It was very exciting to watch them and a little nerve racking too.
Kado wasn't able to go because he started running a fever Friday night. :(

Ugh! We're Sick of being SICK!

Ewwww Germs!!!

Okay, so Porter had what we thought was H1N1 the week before Thanksgiving. He was never officially swabbed but they treated it as if he had it. Luckily none of the rest of us got it after him.
But now, we can't seem to keep clean. Porter ran a fever again 2 weeks ago and woke up on a Monday with a massive head cold. Last Sunday night Kaden and Garrett started throwing up. It lasted about 24 hours and they started to feel better. Now I just took Kaden to the urgent care... He was positive for Strep Throat and Influenza A. What in the WORLD!!!

Maybe I need to really sanatize the entire house. Do they make "smoke bombs" for germs like they do for cockroaches? ha ha Maybe that would do the trick.

We are grateful that it's just minor colds and flus and realize that we are blessed!

Merry 6 Days Before Christmas :)

P.S. No goodies going out to the neighbors this year from the Morris Family. I'm pretty sure they will all THANK me!

Pray for Marky

( Mark at Porter's B-day Party)
This sweet little friend of Porter's--Mark Jeanes has been in the hospital for over a week now. Dr's cannot seem to solve what's causing him to be so sick. Please join us in praying for Mark as Dr's continue their search.

Thanks

"A White Christmas"

Okay so my sweet little peanut boy~AKA Porter, loves to sing "White Christmas"
I often find him sitting at the piano singing at the top of his lungs. He has nearly perfect pitch but his knowledge of the lyrics is hysterical. Some are correct others he's just plugged in a word that seems to fit.

Anyways, yesterday it melted my heart while I was in the kitchen and I overheard him once again singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" with the piano karaoke. Then at the end of the song I heard him say, "Thank you everyone, thank you"

I could not stand it I had to come in and clap for him. What I wouldn't give for atleast one of my kiddos to enjoy singing in public!

Love you Port-Man

WHAT IN THE WORLD!

ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS POST IS...

WHAT IN THE WORLD?

BROTHER BRIGHAM?

GARRETT DECIDED TO PUT ON KADEN'S COAT FUR WITH HIS BROWN BEENIE! MAKES QUIET THE COSTUME AND MAKES ME LAUGH REALLY HARD!

Garrett's 13th Birthday!

Garrett was anxious for his B-day. He wasn't sure what to expect because his list went something like this:

"Mom- I really, really want an ipod touch. I will pay all the money I have saved up and then I promise I won't add the free texting until I'm 14! By the way mom, you can have my old ipod."
1) A Go-Cart
2) A golf-cart
3) To go paintballing
4) For Dad to take me hunting
5) something to make my chapped hands and lips better
6) colonge

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. When I saw his posted list (in 3 places mind you) I just laughed out loud. What is the boy thinking...a golf cart? Yeah buddy, let me just pull some mulah off that money tree out back! ha ha

So after some great thought and conversing, Chad and I approached him with the good ole' "you know your list has some pretty expensive items on it, blah, blah, blah" leaving him wondering if he would even get a piece of cake for his big day. Well, that was exactly what I wanted him to think because I really wanted to surprise him.

By the way, are you still cracking up about #5...he really does suffer from chapped lips and hands in the winter- poor boy!

So now look through the photos. He supposedly has fallen into a UofU fan this year. He has been saying he needed some U stuff. So for all you Y fans, watch out for G-Force the U fan!

A very needed new jacket
U apparel- beenie courteousy of G&G Morris
Finally, last but not least, the much wanted ipod touch.
Doesn't that face just say it all!
He was very surprised and very thankful. He thanked me
4 or 5 times before going to bed!
G-Force, I hope you had a wonderful b-day.
We are blessed to have you in our family!
Thanks for being such a sweet boy to your Momma :)
I love your morning and evening kisses and hugs.
Happy Birthday Garrett!

Our Temporary Home...

I just love Carrie Underwood's new song Temporary Home.
It just make my heart ache to be "home"...and I'm not talking the one here in Draper.
Sometimes I can hardly wait to be there. One of my favorite talks at Time Out for Women was from Sister Sherry Dew. She was talking about what a unique INFLUENCE we have as women. She went on to talk about the power of influence. She reminded us that if we could simply see a glimpse of our "Pre-mortal DVD" or in other words, our life in the pre-existance and see and hear all that we would accomplish and "do" while here; wouldn't that make everyday that much smoother, wouldn't that encourage us to be better! I couldn't agree with her more. So when my sister told me "You have to listen to this new song" I listened with full intent.

"This is my temporary home It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
this is my Temporary Home."
Now...If I can just keep that perspective! But I have to admit, there are days my heart aches to be home. Mostly I feel it on Sundays...just to be there someday!

TOFW

Okay...who can't benefit from a little TIME OUT?

I know I did...this weekend I was fortunate enough to attend Time Out for Women with my Mom, Sister and Niece! What a great time we had. It's always spiritually so nourishing but along with it we laugh so hard we cry. It comes full circle. I think that is what I love so much about TOFW.

The presenters were AMAZING! And like usual, there are always so many great things I learn about myself while there. If you haven't taken the opportunity to attend a Time Out...you need to!

Thanks Mom, Jana & Britt for a wonderful and fulfilling weekend! I love you!

Y.W.I.E.

Meet my new favorite IDOL~
Sister Jodi Robinson

The scene was set...a large treasure chest depicting our one true treasure, our Savior Jesus Christ...gold and red fabric flowing from the chest. The stage lined with numerous pictures of temples with each Y.W. leader in her temple marriage photo! Now all that remained was the perfect program. And that's just what we had.

Sunday night we had our Young Women In Excellence. It was a greatly anticipated night for me because I was able to invite our guest speaker, Sister Jodi Robinson. She is the author of the newly published "Women of Virtue" book. I have been anxiously waiting for our opportunity to have her come visit with our young women. I knew from the moment I heard her speak at our Stake Women's Conference, back in March, that I wanted her to come talk with the Y.W.

Let me tell you...what a blessing it was to be in HER presence that night. Her message is one of peace, hope and clarity that any daughter of God should hear. She was AMAZING!!! If you haven't taken the opportunity to read her book...DO IT NOW!

What a new perspective it's given me. I simply adore her and her message. Our Y.W. were also fabulous that night. We were able to highlight each young woman with her very own table display. It was wonderful to see each and every one of their "Talent Tables"... even more amazing to me is that I am SO blessed to be a part of their lives. The Lord is truly watching over me and fulfilling my every need!
I love serving in the YOUNG WOMEN program!
I love each of you Draper 3rd Ward Young Women!!!

Ohhhh dear!

Picture this.....it's a wrestling singlet
Now picture 3 Morris boys each sporting one of those beauties....

Let the real work begin!
The Morris boys have decided to "take on" wrestling.
The funniest part was that we weren't planning to sign Porter up at all but he went with Dad and the boys to the registration and first practice. WE WERE SHOCKED...to say the least. That little fella pretty much kept up with all the big boys all night! It was amazing! The coach was just cracking up. He told us to let Porter do it! His own boys started when they were 3. Yikes! So we'll see if he can endure. Watch for more posts on this new found fun at the Morris residence!

Happy Halloween

we had a fun Halloween...it lasted all week.
We started on Tues. with our ward Trunk-or-Treat...
then on Wednesday, Porter and Ellerie had their school parade.
Then Saturday we had trick or treating.
It was fun. Porter was a Magcian and Ellerie was a 50's Girl.

Labor Day Excursions

LABOR DAY- Chad had the day all planned out! He wanted to get some sight seeing done for both Kaden and Garrett's merit badges! So off we went down town SLC. We needed to see the State Capitol and take a tour and also visit the Beehive House. In addition to that we decided to take Porter somewhere he's been asking to go for over a year now..."To visit the place President Hinckley is buried at!" So we stopped first to purchase some flowers for his grave sight. Porter of course had to pick them out. He has been so sweet about this and has wanted to visit there for so long. He was pretty proud to say he finally visited President Hinckley! From there we went to the Church History Museum. It was very interesting and fun to read/see all the church history.
Next we picniced on the grass near the Conference Center then we headed to the Beehive House.

On the way back to the car we took these fun shots on Temple Square

Then finally we made it to the State Capitol where we were lucky enough to find a lady in the Governor's office that let us in for a sneek peek! Everything was locked up for the holiday but we were lucky she let us in.

The best part of the whole day was when the kids decided to give part of our picnic lunch to a homeless lady standing at Temple Square. They were hoping she would enjoy it. We noticed she chose to eat the Ho-Ho first. They got a kick out of that!

We ended the night with a BBQ with our good friends the Hart's. It was a great and memorable labor day!
