Our Christmas Advent!

Another Project...Our Christmas Countdown! Calendar and treat bag

A new family tradition: A Christmas Countdown (a.k.a. Advent Calendar)

It turned out great! I'm so happy with our new advent calendar for Christmas! Ellerie is loving it! She is definitely my girl! She wakes up every morning excited to see what the Scripture, Activity & Treat of the day are! I decided to combined all 3 into one. We are reading scripture passages all about Christ and his life. We then have a Christmas oriented family activity for the day and of course what would an advent calendar be without treats! I pre-packaged them and numbered them for each day! It's been going great so far! I love CHRISTMAS!!!!

Projects!

I've found a new hobby. I've been finding old pieces of furniture at thrift shops, bringing them home, add a little TLC and voila! Look how fun! I'm busy being crafty too. The last 2 photos are a new wall decor I needed for a skinny little wall in my front room! I'm having lots of fun creating :)

BEFORE

After a front entry table! cute!

Forgot to take a before of this little guy!

Ward Christmas Party!

I thought these photos were too funny not to post! I love the expression on Kaden's face when Santa decided to give him a big ole' hug! And then Porter and Garrett at the end so intensely listening to Santa! ha ha ha It was a fun night!

Thankful!!!

Thanksgiving was so great! We had great food, family and lots of fun!
I had to dedicate a post to some of the many things I am Thankful for!

- Chads great recovery and progress with his cancer! (he's feeling great!)
- My darling kiddos...even though most days bring a new challenge :)
- My great extended family members! love you all!!!
- Great friends... I miss my AZ friends dearly...I love all my new UT friends!
-Good health; I'm learning to appreciate it more and more these days!
-Working with the Young Women...seriously, could it get any better?
-The gospel of Jesus Christ~ It brings me "Joy in the Journey" for sure!
-My testimony; just attended 2 baptisms today! Attending those has to be one of the greatest opportunities to feel the spirit! I love it!

I have so much to be THANKFUL for! I am truly blessed!

Y.W.I.E

Tonight was our Young Women in Excellence! It turned out so great! The program went so well and the girls did a great job! My favorite part was them reciting The Living Christ. I knew it would be memorable but I can't even explain what an amazing experience it has been to memorize it. It has been such a blessing to each of us.
Our theme for the night was "Like the Stars....Steadfast and Unchanging"---I'm documenting these photos for my own purposes so that I can remember from year to year :)
I want my young women to know how much I love them. We have such a great group of girls! We're small in numbers but mighty in SPIRIT!!! I am so blessed to be serving with amazing women in this organization and to be rubbing shoulders with such beautiful young women!

Draper Temple Update!

Look how pretty! It's even more spectacular at night with all the lights on! Chad's company, Adaptive Design Group, did all the lighting for the Draper Temple so Chad has already been getting some sneek peeks at the interior... lucky! He said it's amazing! We can hardly wait for the open house in January. We'll have to post a night photo once they turn the lights on for good. The temple sits way up high on South Mountain (Traverse) with an absolutely stunning view of the Salt Lake Valley below!

Happy Halloween!!!

Here we have it a Ninga and a Hippie!
Both the kids picked out their costumes this year while Mom somewhat mourned the store bought costumes verses mom making them. But everyone was happy and that's all the matters right! The 2 big boys dressed up for a short jont of trick or treating but were out the door before I could take a picture!

It was so fun to have our extended family visit! Gramma and Grandpa Morris came from Arizona and brought with them Lisa and Kaiser Clark. (Chad's youngest sister) We have all been waiting for Kaiser to arrive! He's such a good baby and so cute! We had so much fun with all of them here.

Porter Turns 5!

I can't believe my baby boy is 5!
He is such a handsome boy and such a character!
He's still just a little peanut weighing in at a WHOPPING 32 lbs.
He recently had to get his 5 yr. old shots and was such a brave boy!
He sat there wide-eyed staring at the needle. Not a tear was shed
instead he exclaimed on the last one..."Uh, that one was a bit sensitive!"
What a crack up!
