Ellerie's Birthday!

Sunday, March 22nd was Ellerie's 9th Birthday!
It was a special day--We had the Temple Dedication Session and then came home for a family birthday bash! The Jimmy Johnson poster was a joke from Kaden, Garrett and Jessica (neighbor friend)! As a little girl Ellerie would always ask "Where Jimmy Johnson" whenever Nascar was on. The boys thought she would "LOVE" a Jimmy Johnson poster! Hey, at least they thought of her and went to the dollar store all on their own to purchase it!

Draper Temple DVD!

I made this DVD to show my Young Women. We had an activity right before the dedication where we told them all about what a temple dedication is and why we have them. We gave them each a white hankie with a special poem and taught them about the Hosanna Shout. We ended the night with this video. It really set the tone for me personally before attending the dedication.

As a family we were so fortunate to attend the Friday afternoon session in the temple. We were so excited and anxious. It was a long wait for the kids but so worth it. We were seated in one of the endowment rooms with the soft comfy chairs and the large screen. We were just around the corner from the sealing room where President Monson was braodcasting. It was AMAZING!! The kids thought it was so neat. It was truly a special day for all of us.

Sunday we attended the mid-morning session at our Stake Center. The talks were so great! I was so touched by the spirit and just kept crying throughout the entire session. We are truly blessed to have participated in this temple dedication. It will be a cherished memory for years to come.

The Big Day!

Since I know we are not allowed to bring cameras tomorrow to the dedication I thought I'd post a few that I found online. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!!! It has been so neat to watch it start from the ground up! I guess our hearts will always hold a special place for the Draper Utah Temple! I'll post all about our experience at the dedication tomorrow!

Draper Temple!!

We were so thrilled when our Bishop announced that we could come and get tickets to the Draper Temple dedication....to be viewed in our Stake Center on March 22nd...which just happens to be Miss Ellerie's birthday! She was so excited! What a memorable birthday present.

Then the following Sunday, they announced that we just happened to get a "few" blue tickets...which are tickets to a dedication session INSIDE the TEMPLE!!! We just knew this was an opportunity we couldn't let pass us by! We scurried to the Bishops office right after church and low and behold, we are now proud owners of some very special BLUE TICKETS!!!

This session is going to be held on Friday, March 20th at 4 p.m.

We feel so blessed to be a part of this special temple!!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Saturday, March 7th was my birthday! One of the most memorable by far.

That morning I started it off right by attending our Stake Enrichment Meeting! It was such a great experience. I was asked back in Dec. to be on the committee. I volunteered to do all the publicity! (something I love to do) The breakfast was so yummy, the speaker so lovely and the morning just perfect!

Early afternoon my friend invited me to go get pedi's! Something I rarely do now that I live in UT...not much time for flip flops these days.

We ended the night by going with a few other couples from our ward to a comedy club in Orem. It just happened to be HYPNOSIS NIGHT!!! Score! I was so excited. I made Chad go up and get hypnotized! He was seriously so halarious. I just had to buy the $10 video they made of it. I cannot wait to watch it back with him and hear his remarks.

It was such a fun b-day! Thank you to all those that posted b-day wishes on Facebook and those of you who brought over yummy birthday treats! I'm so lucky to have such great family and friends!

Googling Gum Grafting!

I forgot to mention in my last post that when we first heard that Chad and Kaden were going to need gum grafts, we went right home and googled it! Guess what the first find was entitled..."Gum Grafting, The Procedure from Hell"! Shortly thereafter Chad was pretty sure he had a business meeting or some other priority that ranked higher than scheduling that appointment. He is still trying his best to get out of the scheduled procedure! :) Poor guy! Lots of icecream, popsicles, soup etc! It take a good 5 weeks to heal. Kaden, lucky guy, gets to jump right into his braces as soon as his healing is complete. The periodontist was trying to make light of it but Kaden was having nothing to do with his humor.

Go Google it if you are really interested in all the gorry details! It's not pretty and sounds EXCRUTIATING!

Kaden's are not near this severe but I'm sure they would develop into that if not taken care of now.

Gum Grafting!

BEFORE
Shortly after the Lortab was taken...weepy child 24 hrs. after....hello Chipmunk!

Poor Kado...he had to have 3 gum grafts on Monday. It was a sight for sore eyes and a scene not well taken for a weak stomache! I tried to watch and comfort him but I quickly had to sit back down due to queeziness! Kaden was a CHAMP!! As scared as he is of needles I think he did pretty good. Here are some before and after photos! He still needs 2 more grafts but those will be put off for another year at least!
p.s. Chad has to get his done next Monday...yikes, don't tell him how much it hurts Kado!

Long time no post!

Sorry it's been a crazy month! I have several things I wish to blog but I will probably just start anew....
