Let's Be Honest....

We're done! Well at least for now! And let's just be honest here people...CANCER SUCKS! But it also teaches you lots of great lessons! We have truly been blessed through the process.

Chad finished up his last treatment on Thursday! I was so sad that I was unable to go with him. I wan't to be there to see him "ring the bell" (something they let everyone do once they finish their treatments) but I was in bed with a kidney infection! He was so happy to be done but admitted that on Friday about 2:30 he started feeling lots of anxiety. By 3:30 it subsided.

He would usually leave the office about 2:30 to head to his treatment which was anytime between 3:30-4:00 p.m. most days. I guess it's something we'll have to work through but hopefully most of the side effects and mind games will dissolve over time!

He's still nauseated and has some heartburn and cramping but otherwise is really looking forward to feeling better!

Again, THANK YOU for all your love and support! We're almost out of the woods with this. Follow up treatment will consist of additional chest xrays, blood work and frequent check ups with the urologist!

For now we're "ON OUR WAY" to full recovery!!!!

Portland, OR

I can hardly wait for May 29th to get here! Why you ask? I'm going up to Portland, OR for my Girl's of 89' Retreat! I have 9 girl friends from H.S. that get together about once a year for a weekend "get away"...we've been doing this for about 10 years now and it's so fun! I can't believe there are 10 of us that attend. We chose Portland this year because one of the gals just had twins in January and we're all dying to see them! It's going to be such a great weekend! Can't wait to see everyone!

Count Down To The Beach!!!

We can hardly wait to get to the beach this year!!!
It's been a long cold winter and we're all ready for
some great R&R on the beach!!

52 Blessing
WEEK 18
I Am Thankful....

To be a MOTHER!!! I know it's Mother's Day but I truly as so grateful for being a mother and for having a wonderful mother of my own. I have 4 really great kiddos and they show me more love than I could ask for! It's been so fun watching them learn and grow and develop their own little personalities over the years. They are the joy of my life!

52 Blessing
Week 17
I Am Thankful For.....

The Living Christ...The Testimony of the Apostles

Our Stake challenged all of the YW to memorize The Living Christ by camp which is July 28-Aug 1. When we were put into the Presidency in late March, we learned of this challenge. We tried during opening exercises to say the first paragraph by memory. We were stagnant and lazy about it UNTIL....this past Wednesday when we decided to EMBRACE the challenge with full purpose of heart and mind!

We set out with our weekly activity as a MEMORIZINGLY GOOD TIME!! Little did we know what strength the Lord would bless us with. WE (leaders and YW) memorized the first 4 paragraphs within an hour and half! We were so elated! I can't believe how AWESOME it felt. I also can't express how wonderful it felt to repeat it over and over this past week before my prayers. It has brought me so much peace and joy internally! I'm looking forward to our next memorizing night where we will finish it up. The girls we're just BEAMING when they said it on Sunday! The neatest part is going to be when we all stand (the full Stake) and say it together at camp! Won't that be AMAZING!!!

Who wants to join us in this challenge!

Radiation Week 2 = Pickles and Milkshakes

Okay...the boy has got to be pregnant...just kidding! Chad ate a whole jar of pickles within just a few days and topped it off with a homemade chocolate milkshake almost every night this week! No, joke! I don't know what this radiation is telling his body but it's starting to make me laugh!

He also admitted (finally) that he "Doesn't know how women do it!" Do what??? Morning sickness, stomache cramps, etc. He finally has empathy for us now ladies :) Yeah, I'll count that as a blessing :) ha ha ha. He was nice about it before but now I think he really "gets it"...

With week 2 down we're past half way and looking forward to more pickles and milkshakes this week :) His eating preferences have been very keen this week. He's really picky and wants certain things. I guess whatever helps the nausea is the golden ticket! Of course all the while not a complaint in sight! What an amazing man I have! We're still learning and growing from it all!
Thanks Chadly for enduring so bravely! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
