52 Blessing Project
Week 12
I Am Thankful for....
Ellerie Rae my sweet baby girl!

Ellerie celebrated her 8th Birthday on Saturday, March 22nd
We spent the day at Gramma Morris' and had an Easter Egg hunt, a BBQ and lots of fun.

10 Ten Things I Love about ELLERIE:
10. She is very artistic and loves to draw, color, paint, scrapbook etc.

9. She has a wonderful singing voice and likes to sing

8. She is a beautiful girl inside and out

7. She loves to be a girly girl--but can also play it cool with her brothers

6. She has always loved playing with baby dolls and they are still her favorite toy--she'll be a great Mommy someday!

5. She makes friends very easily

4. She is a very good student in school and gets straight 4's (A's)

3. She loves icecream and going to Costa Vida (my fav's too)

2. She is a loving sister

1. SHE'S MY BABY GIRL..my only girl!

Ellerie has been such a great girl through the years. I used to tease that she turned 2 and got PMS on the same day because she was very emotional...what girl isn't :) She has been such a miracle girl..at 6 weeks old we found out she had Strep B Menengitis and we were so lucky that she had no problems caused by that. She has been pretty healthy except for her allergy induced asthma. We feel so blessed to have Ellerie in our family! She is such a cute girl!

I love you Ell-Bell!!! I can't believe you're 8!!!

My Motto for Today.....

This is our new motto: Celebrate Recovery! We are using this in the sense of Chad recovering from his surgery today. I thought this picture was so suited to our situation. Me on top of the wall helping to pull Chad up and over this trial we're facing right now!

The surgery went well but Chad is very sore and has quite a bit of pain. We didn't get any conclusive diagnosis except for "It is definitely cancer"...the Dr. explained that the mass looked different from what they "normally see" and the pathologist was unable to get a diagnosis of which type of cancer it is. So, we are back to the "hurry up and wait game"... It's very stressful to wait on news like this but I'm trying to take a deep breath and remember all the good advise I've received the past few days. So I will wait patiently for any news. Dr. Clark also said they may end up sending it to Mayo Clinic for diagnosis. Thank you to all who have called or emailed with your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for faithful family members and friends who's hands reach out in time of need. I will continue to post any additional information as it comes in. Chad will see the Urologist again on Friday for a follow-up. I'm hoping he will have something to tell us then as to what direction we go from here. He did say that he would have a CT scheduled for next week to see if the cancer has spread to any lymph nodes and then we will meet with the oncologist to talk about a treatment plan.

So Tuesday right before we are getting ready to leave for Arizona, Chad's Urologist met with him and told him that he has Testicular Cancer! Ugh! I know that many have said "this is the best cancer to get" but just the word CANCER stresses me out! I'm trying to be way optomistic about it all but there are just times I break down! I know that this type of cancer has a very high and successful cure rate which is great news....Chad is scheduled to have surgery this week Wednesday but then over the weekend he came down with the flu so we have to check in tomorrow with the Urologist and see what they decide. Please keep us in your prayers! It has been an extremely overwhelming weekend but I know we will feel better after we find out exactly which type of cancer this is and at what stage it's at etc. etc. They will give us that information after they biopsy the tumor. I know that Lord will give us the strength we need to get throug this. It's always so amazing to me when I prayer and get that peace and comfort..."this to shall pass"
