Friday- April 4th
Yesterday was our follow up from the CT scan on Monday. Dr. Clark had good news~ the biopsy came back as Seminoma which means it was the typical testicular type of cancer. It has a 98% cure rate with removal and radiation therapy. We were THRILLED to hear this news. Then he said that Chad would need 1 more CT scan on his chest- the chest x-ray on Monday showed one small “spot” on his lungs. The CT is scheduled for today, Friday. We won’t hear back about that spot until Tuesday or Thursday of next week. So, we’re still on pins and needles waiting for that but we are hoping for the best of news! If the spot comes back negative as a tumor, then we will proceed forward and in about 2-3 weeks Chad will begin his 8+ weeks of radiation. If the spot in his lungs is cancer, we will be meeting with an oncologist to discuss Chemotherapy. As you might guess we are praying that spot is just something else.
We are feeling very blessed and watched over and have felt the strength of your thoughts and prayers for us. Thank you again for your many loving words of encouragement and hope! We are so blessed!!!!
Love,
~Nikki

Whew, big breath of relief! I am so happy to hear this news! I will pray for good results on Tuesday!
Thanks for keeping us updated...hope you enjoy your weekend. I know the waiting is no fun!!
nikki - we love you all and pray for the best for chad - sometimes i think this whole "life experience" thing is for the birds - but then i get thru the challenge i am amazed, and often impressed, with what i was actually able to withstand, and accomplish
p.s. i don't really like to use the word trial - the word challenge makes the experience sound more like an event on american gladiators, it will come to an end and there's usually a reward waiting at it's completion.
i started this before conference - just got done with the a.m. session and thought of you during sister. tanner's remarks - may the angels and a ram be waiting at this journey's end. our love to chad.
sharon, steve and family.
